1. What is the 8-Week Couples Money Course?
The 8-Week Couples Money Course is a live immersion program designed to help couples create a systematic approach to managing their finances together. The course focuses on developing a spending plan, setting shared financial goals, and achieving financial clarity, confidence, and control. We will learn the foundation of money management - creating a spending plan (a.k.a., a budget) - general financial literacy topics, and develop the supporting system to make managing money together a sustainable and exciting practice.
2. Who is this course for?
This course is for couples who manage or want to manage their money together and want to improve their financial management skills, align their financial goals, and strengthen their relationship through better money management. Whether you're newly married, living together, or have been together for years, this course can help you build a stronger financial foundation.
3. Who is this course not for?
This course is not be suitable for individuals who are not in a committed relationship or those who prefer to manage their finances independently without involving their partner. It is also not designed for couples who are looking for quick fixes or are not willing to invest time and effort into creating a systematic approach to their finances.
4. What will we learn in the course?
You will learn how to:
Create a systematic spending plan.
Diagnose and address problematic areas in your budget.
Set and achieve shared financial goals.
Communicate effectively about money.
Develop a unified approach to managing finances.
Build financial equity and transparency in your relationship.
5. How is the course structured?
The course is structured into live sessions held twice a week:
Wednesdays: Focus on learning the components of the financial system, the Bottom Line method.
Saturdays: Optional group coaching sessions to implement and refine your knowledge.
Additionally, you will receive a personalized 1:1 session, resources, and recordings of all trainings.
6. What if we can't attend the live sessions?
All Wednesday sessions will be recorded and made available to you, so you can catch up at your convenience.
7. How much does the course cost?
The course is $797 + tax.
8. What kind of support will we receive during the course?
You will receive support through:
Live group coaching sessions.
A personalized 1:1 session tailored to your specific needs.
Access to a community of other couples taking the course.
Comprehensive resources and tools to help you implement what you learn.
9. Is this course only for couples who have serious money problems?
Not at all! This course is beneficial for any couple looking to improve their financial management and align their financial goals, regardless of their current financial situation. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to refine your existing financial practices, this course can help.
10. What if my partner and I have different financial goals?
I often notice that couples have different information about money. This can be objective financial management, but it also can be about money beliefs. One of the key components of the course is learning to understand one another and communicate effectively about money and align your goals. A goal of the program is to help you find common ground and develop a financial plan that respects both partners' priorities.
11. How do we sign up for the course?
You can sign up for the course by visiting the course sign-up page and following the registration instructions. The course begins Wednesday, January 8, 2025 and will go through the end of February.
12. What if we have specific financial challenges not covered in the course?
During the personalized 1:1 session, you will have the opportunity to discuss any specific financial challenges you face. My goal is to tailor the advice and strategies to your unique situation.
13. How soon can we expect to see results?
While every couple's situation is different, many participants begin to see improvements in their financial clarity, communication, and goal alignment within the first few weeks of the course. The tools and strategies you learn become a lifelong practice.
